Top reasons for learning Spanish. In Dublin. With Ole School of Languages

    1. Over 320 million people speak Spanish globally. With such a widely spoken language comes opportunities.
    2. Learning Spanish makes it much easier to acquire another Latin-based language such as French, Italian and Portuguese. Also, if you already learnt another Latin-based language, Spanish will prove easier to acquire.
    3. Spanish vocabulary is somewhat similar to English, and written Spanish is largely phonetic making it easier to read and pronounce. Spanish grammar is straightforward as far as languages go allowing you to have meaningful communication in a shorter period of learning.
    4. There are more than twenty countries in the world where Spanish is spoken either as the official or a primary language.
    5. The U.S. is the third largest Spanish speaking country in the world, and with this it is clear that more and more opportunities will open up to those of us who speak Spanish. The Hispanic population in the United States has grown by 60 per cent in just one decade. At present there are over 37 million Hispanics in the U.S., representing 11 per cent of the total population.
    6. Spain and Latin American countries are becoming important commercial partners to European, U.S. and Asian countries.
    7. Hispanic countries are rich with culture. You can experience a variety of dances in different Hispanic countries. Most famous are Salsa in Cuba, Flamenco in Spain, Bachata in Colombia and Tango in Argentina; the music which compliments these dances is equally unique and provides a great way to appreciate Hispanic culture and entice you to learn the Spanish language.
    8. Hispanic literature is highly regarded worldwide. Most literary pieces are translated into other languages, however, reading what the author penned is always better than that of a translator. Noted Hispanic authors are Miguel de Cervantes, Gabriel García Márquez, Javier Marías, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Rosa Montero, to name but a few.
    9. Your holiday to Spanish speaking parts of South America and to Spain would allow for a wholly different and better experience if you can speak the language of the locals who are usually more open and friendly to those who took the time to learn some words in an effort to communicate to the locals.
    10. There are many Spanish people living in Dublin, and what better way to get to know them than to learn a few words in order to converse with them. Whats more, there are many Spanish restaurants in Dublin, and ordering in Spanish can gain brownie points with the waiters which is never a bad thing.
